Control Stick Assembly – Part 1

Began control stick assembly process by drilling 1/8″ pilot holes in bottom of stick grips. Removed powder coating from shaft of control stick horns by using heat, sandpaper, and scotchbrite wheel. Installed SF-2024-8 bushings into control stick frame; fit is okay but will need to put some Loctite 638 on bushings to ensure they do not rotate. Pressed SF-610-3 bushing into link rod and ensured bushing stuck out to the specs called for in plans (0.024″ actual). Assembled left side stick and horn, aligned both to vertical, then transferred pilot hole onto horn shaft. Removed shaft and through-drilled stick grip hole on drill press. Attempted to use #1 taper reamer to enlarge hole but found out I bought the wrong size; will need to get correct size before reaming.
