Marked out 1″ skin overlap line on windshield skirt. Aligned skirt with windshield centering fuel door cutout in windscreen and aligned back edges together. Marked skirt location onto wind screen then pilot drilled fuel door holes in windshield with #40 drill bit. Installed windshield skirt onto fuselage then through drilled side skin holes into upper longeron. Clecoed side skins and windshield skirt onto upper longerons. Slid windshield into place and centered into onto fuselage. Pushed windshield as forward as possible and clamped into place with wood blocks behind windshield. Stuffed towels in between windshield and glareshield to help push windshield “up” into position to keep tight with windshield skirt. With a dulled #40 drill bit, started to pilot drill windshield to skirt working from front center, along the sides to the aft part of the windshield. Inserted clecoes as holes were drilled. Along the way, used strap to help pull in windshield skirt and “bow out” windshield. Also continued to stuff towels under windshield to keep assembly tight.
