Rather than installing round vents in the windshield as is shown in the plans, decided to use the Vans vent sidewall kit. Worked on fresh air vents by cutting apart components from Vans vent kit and cleaning edges of parts. Riveted vent door assembly together using pulled rivets then measured and laid out doubler plate on LH fuselage side. Drilled rivet holes then marked area to cut. Cut out fuselage sides with rotary tool and filed edges so that door mechanism would swing clear. Clecoed vent assembly together to verify clearances and smoothness of operation before riveting doubler and bracket to fuselage side. Installed vent door using included hardware and installed vent door knob with bent rivet tail. Repeated process for RH side of fuselage.
