Tail Fairing Panels – Part 2

Continued to work on tail fairing panels by annealing panels via sharpie method; scribbled sharpie on the panels then heated them via torch until sharpie marks began to disappear. After annealing, worked panels over a couple scrap pieces of pipe to work curve into the panels; this method worked much better than expected. After shaping the panels into an approximate bend, laid them onto the fuselage and tweaked the flanges slightly to get them to sit flush. Once panels were close, pilot drilled panels and transferred holes into vertical and horizontal stabilizers with 5/64″ drill bit for sheet metal screws. Verified final fit then removed panels to better trim front flange and updrill holes in panel to 1/8″. Will wait to reattach panels once everything is painted.
