Tailwheel Installation – Part 1

Drilled 1/4″ hole in tail wheel spring using same method as landing gear legs. Updrilled bottom half of tail wheel mount bracket then through drilled entire assembly and installed hardware. Noticed a descent amount of slop between tail wheel spring and mount so will probably epoxy mount into hole in warmer weather. Measure distance between mount and tailwheel and determined spring rod was about 1/4″ too long. Cut mount down to proper size using hack saw then reinstalled. Pilot drilled tail wheel assembly barrel then aligned tail wheel assembly to spring on ground, ensuring tail wheel was square. Clamped tail wheel to angles to ensure alignment then updrilled tailwheel and spring to 1/4″
