Windshield Installation – Part 5
Using two people, reinstalled bolts in upper longerons, windshield skirt, and upper motor mounts. Applied torque check to bolts to monitor torque. Slid windshield into place and began installing bolts starting from forward center and working backwards. Used a piece of tape on wrench to prevent nut from falling out. Hours Worked: 1.95

Windshield Installation – Part 4
Routed fuel vent hose up through hole in glareshield and attached to fuel vent fitting with hose clamp. Clecoed newly-painted windshield skirt onto fuselage. Hours Worked: 1.30

Windshield Prep – Part 1
Began prepping the windshield components for paint and final assembly by updrilling and deburring the windshield skirt. Enlarged fuel door hole and installed Southco receptacle for fuel door fastener with flush rivets. Then updrilled windshield bow skirt and scotchbrited. Canopy Components – Part 3
Clamped canopy frame components together and checked fitment on fuselage. Forward windshield flange might need a bit of trimming but overall fit good. Pilot drilled then updrilled forward and aft canopy bows to side rails. Cut canopy hinge pieces from P5 piano hinge stock then pilot drilled per plans. Modified hinge pin per plans and…

Completed pilot drilling of windshield skirt holes into upper longerons. Updrilled skirt mounting holes in longerons and upper firewall. Decided not to updrill windshield holes since clecoes would not hold well in 9/64″ holes. Hours Worked: 1.25

Took SNB-D03-09L and updrilled holes per plans; inside holes to 3/16″ and outside holes to 13/64″ to be tapped. Countersunk 3/16″ holes for flush screws and tapped outside holes with 1/4″-28 tap set for canopy alignment pins. Hours Worked: 0.64
