Began assembling canopy frame to fuselage by locating canopy frame hinge on RH longeron. Since clecoes would impede placing the canopy frame on the hinge, installed three rivets in the canopy frame hinge to make it easier to remove (if needed later on). Placed canopy frame onto fuselage and aligned it 1/2″ from the turtle deck with 3D printed spacer blocks. Clamped canopy frame into place then made 1/8″ spacers to simulate the canopy thickness between the canopy frame and hinge. Pilot drilled spacers then clecoed together to mock up final canopy frame location. On LH side, marked location of alignment pins on the LH longeron and updrilled holes to “loose” 1/4″. Installed canopy alignment pins and tested operation of canopy frame; seems to function well. Trimmed canopy to factory marked trim lines and mocked up onto fuselage.
