Second attempt at making battery box by recutting out template from 0.032 sheet stock and bending with bench bender. Deviated from plans design by omitting LH side panel to be replaced with hinged panel for side removal of battery. Cut various lengths of -3 piano hinge and riveted hinge halves to battery box using flush rivets. Made battery box depth an extra 1/4″ deep to account for sliding battery out with hinge half riveted to firewall. After confirming battery would fit in the box, located the battery box on the firewall and pilot drilled box to firewall. Updrilled holes then removed box for deburring. Riveted battery box to firewall then attached foam pads that came with battery to backside of firewall. Tested fit and removal of battery; ops check good. P14 complete!
