Fabricated gear leg fairings by transferring plan measurements to 0.025″ aluminum sheet and cutting out fairing skins. Cut and pilot drilled hinge halves from P3 piano hinge stock. Clecoed hinges to fairing skins and bent skins into shape using conduit to help form leading edge radius. Pinned fairings into shape then annealed aluminum using a propane torch and sharpie markings to determine when the appropriate temperature was reached. Let fairings cool then removed center lugs of hinges and cut out some skin int the center training edge to enable fairings to use two separate pins rather than one long continuous pin. Disassembled fairings to deburr everything then riveted hinges onto fairing skin. Made hinge pins out of scrap stock and test fit fairings onto gear legs. Will mount in the future using Adel clamps rather than single pin method described in plans.
