Cowl Fiberglass Work – Part 2

After leaving the fiberglass to cure for a couple days, marked rough cut line and gently pried the top cowling off of the bottom cowling without incident. Rough sanded upper cowl using 60 grit sand paper to level bottom edge and start to feather transition area. Temporarily installed top cowl back onto airplane to check fit: general fit okay. Made a dry micro mixture (a bit too runny in hindsight) and applied to inside edge of cowl to build up back side of lip. Let epoxy firm up then repeated process for outside edge of cowl using a slightly thicker dry micro mixture. Used squeegee to try and smooth application with minor success. Will let epoxy set before second round of sanding and final trimming of bottom lip.
