Glareshield Installation – Part 2
Made temporary seat cushions out of old mattress pad. Realigned glareshield to longerons and upper firewall and pilot drilled glareshield to firewall angle. Located instrument panel 3/4″ back from edge of glareshield and pilot drilled glareshield to instrument panel angle. Updrilled all glareshield holes. Hours Worked: 4.20

Located and clecoed firewall angles to upper firewall. Located and pilot drilled cross tie fittings to wing attach angle and upper longerons. Riveted cross tie fittings to wing attach angles but left clecoes in upper longerons so that forward spar tunnel can be removed. Instrument Panel Prep
Marked and bent -05 and -09 angles. Located -05 instrument Panel angles to back of instrument Panel and drilled/clecoed. Will install final rivets and dimple once panel is cut out. Hours Worked: 1.88

Riveted forward seat pan hinge half to spar tunnel. Marked and located upper seat back hinge half onto cross tie box and pilot drilled. Updrilled hinge, deburred, and riveted. Located rear seat pan centered to ribs and pilot drilled. Located seat support strap on seat attach angles and pilot drilled. Updrilled assembly then located and…
Seat Installation – Part 2
Updrilled hinge halves on seat pan channel, disassembled, deburred then riveted into final position. Installed forward seat pan with hinge pins then pinned forward mount hinge onto assembly. Located forward hinge onto spar tunnel and pilot drilled then updrilled. Removed forward hinge from aircraft then deburred spar tunnel and hinge holes. Hours Worked: 1.50
Seat Installation – Part 1
Created miscellaneous hinges and hinge pins from P3 piano hinge stock. Assembled and riveted -02 and -04 seat pan assemblies. Located and pilot drilled hinge half’s to forward seat pan channel. Hours Worked: 6.60
Tailwheel Installation – Part 2
Deburred tail wheel and spring holes and installed AN4 hardware through tail wheel assembly. Reinstalled clecoes on aft fuselage floor and took off of saw horses. Rolling chassis complete! Hours Worked: 1.26
Tailwheel Installation – Part 1
Drilled 1/4″ hole in tail wheel spring using same method as landing gear legs. Updrilled bottom half of tail wheel mount bracket then through drilled entire assembly and installed hardware. Noticed a descent amount of slop between tail wheel spring and mount so will probably epoxy mount into hole in warmer weather. Measure distance between…
Main Landing Gear Installation – Part 4
Packed wheel bearings with Aeroshell 5 grease then installed tires onto axles. Tightened nuts then backed off until slight drag felt. Going to put off drilling cotter pin holes in axles until brake system is completed. Removed saw horses and set down aircraft on the gear for the first time! Hours Worked: 0.80
Brake System Assembly – Part 1
Prepped wheel pant mount plates by marking new holes and cut-outs. Drilled mount holes and used combination of files and rotary tool for brake line hardware cut outs. Riveted nutplates onto outside of plates for wheel pant hardware. Assembled brake bodies to brass hardware using Teflon paste. Verified alignment of parts then installed brake assemblies…

Drilled motor mount hole in new RH gear leg same as previous but used V block in drill press to ensure squareness. Deburred hole and attached new RH gear leg to fuselage with AN4-30A bolt. Began prepping wheel assemblies by using large socket to fully set wheel bearing races into rim halves. Prepped tires and tubes by removing Schrader vale and applying talc to tire and tube.
