Firewall Sealant and Engine Preheat Wiring

Removed wire grommet covers from firewall for fear of wire chaffing and riveted open holes closed. Riveted upper cowl shelf to windshield skirt. Applied 3M Fire Barrier Sealant CP 25WB+ to gaps in firewall around motor mounts and on seam between windshield skirt and upper firewall. Also applied sealant to wire bundles, brake lines, and smoke fluid line penetrations. Slightly trimmed oil cooler baffle for better clearance with oil pan. Placed heat shrink around oil temp probe to prevent grounding out with baffle. Routed preheat wires underneath oil pan and fixed Molex connectors. Secured ground wire to cooling fin then routed preheat plug along oil cooler lines then out near RH cowl exhaust area. Plugged preheat system in and monitored oil temps; ops check good.
