Pilot: Hannah SilberObserver: Evan Krueger
Airport: Syvrud (7WI5)
Weight/CG: 942 lbs / 66.2 inches

Configuration: Cowl On

Fuel: At least 20 minutes

Observer: With fire extinguishers

Procedures:

  1. Perform throttle and mixture control checks
  2. Start engine and verify oil pressure
  3. Verify brakes hold aircraft
  4. Record engine instruments when stabilized
  5. Record idle speed
  6. At idle, reduce mixture very slowly and record rise in rpm (approximately 50 for most engines)
  7. Verify brakes work properly
  8. Taxi aircraft straight and make left and right turns. Note tracking, understeer/oversteer, and turn radius with and without brakes
  9. Wear brakes in according to manufacturer’s recommendation
  10. Shutdown aircraft using normal method.
  11. Restart aircraft and shutdown using magnetos
  12. Restart aircraft and shutdown using fuel valve
